Starting August 2, we’re giving away 4 tickets each week to a different BBQ event

The fourth annual Pinehurst Barbecue Festival in Pinehurst, North Carolina, continues to grow each year and has quickly become one of the best barbecue events in the state. This year’s festival takes place in August 30-September 1. First, we’ll provide some information about the event, then follow it up with what we’re giving away, so be sure to read to the end.

Seven North Carolina pitmasters are participating in the festival’s staple event—the Pitmaster Invitational presented by Lin Hutaff’s Pinehurst Realty Group on September 1. These pitmasters hail from locations across the Tar Heel state—from Charlotte to Greensboro to the Triangle to “Down East.”

Food Network TV personality and Prime Barbecue restaurant founder Christopher Prieto returns for a fourth year as the event’s headliner. The pitmaster roster from 2023 will be returning intact for this year’s festival to prepare mouthwatering barbecue pork, beef, poultry, and more. That award-winning roster includes:

• Christopher Prieto of Prime Barbecue, Knightdale, North Carolina

• Adam Hughes of Old Colony Smokehouse, Edenton, North Carolina

• Lewis Donald of Sweet Lew’s BBQ, Charlotte, North Carolina

• Ron Simmons of Master Blend Family Farms, Kenansville, North Carolina

• Keith Henning of Black Powder Smokehouse, Jamestown, North Carolina

• Jake Wood of Lawrence Barbecue, Durham, North Carolina

• Benjie Ayala of Pinehurst Brewing Co., Pinehurst, North Carolina

Other scheduled events in the iconic Village of Pinehurst include the High on the Hog gourmet pitmaster dinner on Friday, August 30 at the Fair Barn; the “Q” School Grilling Class on Saturday, August 31 at the Pinehurst Brewing Co.; and the Barbecue Reimagined tasting event on Saturday, August 31.

All events require a separate ticket. There are a limited number of tickets assigned to each event, and most events sold out in 2023. Log on to pinehurstbarbecuefestival.com for more information or to purchase tickets.
